Abacus nursery will care for and educate SEN children if we can meet their individual needs. The process for the admission of each child will vary, however, we will ensure that all relevant staff will be trained/updated accordingly and that we will work in close partnership with parents. At Abacus we aim to provide the best for all children as individuals, enabling them to make the best possible progress. This approach means that every effort is made to promote a positive climate within our nursery that recognises the right of children with special educational needs not to stand out from their peers. We believe that the 'purpose of education for all children is the same ...... but the help individual children will need will be different.' (Warnock 1978) |
