How good is the Day Care?

  • Comprehensive safety policies and procedures are effectively used to ensure children are protected at all times from any risk. Children are well behaved and staff act as good role models.
  • Children show confidence and are actively engaged and happy within the environment .
  • Staff value parental involvement and actively seek to promote children's learning both at home and at nursery.

What is being done well?

  • Staff are well motivated and attend training to enhance their knowledge
    of care and learning for children .
  • Staff provide good role models for children.

How effective is the nursery education?

  • They make very good progress in personal, social and emotional development, communication, language and literacy, mathematics, creative and physical
    development.
  • Staff present as very good role models
    and manage children's behaviour well. Their interaction with the children is plentiful and appropriate. Staff provide a good level of support, guidance and encouragement. They make effective use of questioning and offer activities which provide sufficient challenge for the children. Assessments for all the children are completed by staff and are used to inform future planning.
  • Staff work well as a team and staff morale is high. T
  • Relationships with parents and carers are very good. They are encouraged to be involved with their child's learning. Respective parents and carers have regular access to their children's personal records.

What is being done well?

  • Children are confident and enthusiastic learners, interacting extremely well with adults and peers.
  • High priority is given to enable children to become independent learners.
  • Children benefit from high levels of staff interaction, staff offer praise, support and encourage children to problem solve and extend their
    ideas.
  • Parents and carers are made to feel welcome and valued through a range of planned and spontaneous opportunities.
  • Leadership within the setting demonstrate a commitment to the
    continuing improvement of educational provision for children and the development of the nursery .

    Quality Counts

    • We are currently working towards the Nationally recognised quality assurance scheme “Quality Counts” which is both issued and renewed by the National Day Nurseries Association. Gaining this award demonstrates that both the care and education provided by those who are accredited is of an exceptionally high standard. We are due to be assessed before the end of 2005.
